An expandable tubular pin (10) and box (12) connection is described having a feature of trapping the pin nose (26) after preferably deforming the pin nose (26) plastically in an outward direction away from the longitudinal axis (20) of the connection. The box end (32) is held away from the pin wall (34) before expansion so that its tendency to curl inwardly upon expansion causes it to bend against the pin wall (34) for sealing with it. The thread profile (14, 16) is also optimized to reduce flank separation as a result of expansion.
