2073962 9112436 PCTABS00006 A vibration-resistant two-member expansion fastening device characterized by quick lock and release. The first (10 or 2610) of the two members has an engagement edge (24 or 2632) which is adaptable to apply pressure on the second member (60 or 2660) at a low energy position (76 or 2676). The second member (60 or 2660) has either a recessed surface (70) or a threadline with threads (2684), the diameter of which decreases in a direction from a front point (74) or leading point (2666) away from the second head (64 or 2664) towards a back point (76 or 2676) close to the second head (64 or 2664), thus forming the low energy position. This configuration provides the fastening device with highly desirable characteristics, such as easy insertion of the second member (60 or 2660) into the first member (10 or 2610) by a simple pushing-in action, extraction of the first member by standard unscrewing, optionally followed by pulling, and vibration-proof properties.
