ABSTRACT OF THE ENCLOSURE The invention is an expansion joint seal for the gap in a bridge decking wherein load supporting splines are embedded in an elastomer strip that bridges the gap. The splines are at an incline to the longitudinal axis of the strip so that they have a rotational movement as the width of the gap changes.
