ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An expansion plug formed in one-piece from plastic material is disclosed. The plug has a wedging sleeve forming the inner end and a collar forming the outer end with a central portion formed therebetween. An axial cavity extends through the collar and the central portion and an axial opening is provided in the wedging sleeve to receive a threaded fastening member. Diametrically opposed deformable webs extend longitudinally in the central portion and joins the wedging sleeve and the collar and are adapted to buckle outwardly upon movement of the wedging sleeve towards the collar as a result of rotation of the threaded fastening member. The deformable webs are defined by longitudinal slots in the central portion and these slots also form anchoring legs which extend the length of the central portion. Ends of the anchoring legs adjacent the wedging sleeve are provided with obliquely inclined surfaces adapted to be contacted by obliquely inclined surfaces on the wedging sleeve to spread the anchoring legs as a result of the said movement of the wedging sleeve.
