An explosion-proof instrument quick disconnect (10) and seal (25) is provided for use in hazardous (e.g., explosive) environments to quickly connect or disconnect energized or de-energized electrical circuits. The quick disconnect and seal includes mating electrical receptacle inserts positioned within a male (30) and female (20) portion. The male and female portions are connected to one another by a coupling nut (50) having threads that engage mating threads on the male portion (30), thereby moving the male portion (30) therby moving the male portinon (30) relative the female portion (20) by rotation of the coupling nut (50), while at the same time preventing the electrical connection of the mating receptacle inserts in the male and female portions before the explosion-proof chamber (26) is secure.
L'invention concerne une déconnexion rapide et un joint antidéflagrants pour instruments destinés à être utilisés dans des environnements dangereux (par exemple explosifs) afin de connecter ou de déconnecter rapidement des circuits électriques alimentés ou non alimentés. La déconnexion rapide et le joint consistent à apparier des pièces rapportées de réceptacle électrique positionnées à l'intérieur d'une partie mâle et d'une partie femelle. Les parties mâle et femelle sont connectées l'une à l'autre par un écrou de couplage présentant un filetage venant en prise avec des filetages appariés se trouvant sur la partie mâle, déplaçant ainsi la partie mâle par rapport à la partie femelle par rotation de l'écrou de couplage, tout en empêchant en même temps la connexion électrique des pièces rapportées de réceptacle appariées dans les parties mâle et femelle, avant que la chambre antidéflagrante ne soit sécurisée.
