A multi-piece socket system (10) having a large internal cavity to allow a protrusion of a long rod or other workpiece to extend into the socket system (10). The socket section (18) has at least two pieces: a drive adaptor (20) and a socket (40), extension collar(s) (70) if used, and drive adaptor (20) form a long tubular body into which a rod or other central member may enter while the nut is being driven onto the rod. The drive adaptor (20), extension collars (70), and sockets (40) preferably attach together using a plurality of interlocking teeth on the ends of each member. For further stability, a spring biased pin (56, 86) extends from the wall of one member and through a hole (36) in the wall of the mating member. Additional attachments, such as a threaded rod (100) and drill chuck (110, 120), may also be used.
L'invention concerne un système de douille multi-éléments (10) présentant une cavité intérieure de grande taille dans laquelle peut s'engager la partie saillante d'une longue tige ou d'une autre pièce. La partie douille (18) se compose d'au moins deux parties: un adaptateur d'entraînement (20) et une douille (40), éventuellement avec une ou plusieurs bagues rallonges (70),, qui forment un long élément tubulaire dans lequel une tige ou autre élément central peut pénétrer pendant la mise en place de l'écrou sur la tige. L'adaptateur d'entraînement (20), les bagues rallonges (70) et les douilles (40) se fixent de préférence les uns aux autres par une pluralité de dents de verrouillage sur les extrémités de chacun de ces éléments. Pour plus de stabilité, une goupille sous charge de ressort (56, 86) dépasse de la paroi de l'un des éléments et traverse un trou (36) dans la paroi de l'élément correspondant. D'autres accessoires , tels qu'un tige filetée (100) ou un mandrin (110, 120), peuvent également être utilisés.
