ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Conversion of an extended range mechanical fuel pump computer price variator for selectively substituting an optional $3, $4 or $5 unit volume price adder for an optional $1 or $2 unit volume price adder. A standby con- version mechanism is provided having an auxiliary compound gear rotatably mounted on an auxiliary support shaft and comprising a stack of separate gears which may be selec- tively stacked to establish a selected drive ratio through the auxiliary compound gear and a cone gear mounted on a parallel take-off shaft. In an inactive condition of the standby conversion mechanism, the cone gear is pinned to the take-off shaft drive gear to directly drive the take- off shaft with that drive gear.
