A rear door assembly for a vehicle. The rear door includes an interconnected exterior panel and interior panel. A recessed region of the interior panel defines a compartment and an aperture in the exterior panel provides access to the compartment. An equipment module, comprising of a plurality of accessories mounted to a Garner plate enters enter the compartment via the aperture. The carrier plate is shaped to abut against the edges of the aperture in the outer panel and provide a matching trim. Fasteners preloaded on the interior side of the Garner plate secure the equipment module to the interior panel.
