A plastic sheet exterior finishing panel (10) is provided which includes an inner layer (14) of foamed plastic material and an outer layer (12) of non-foamed plastic material joined to the inner layer and defining a facing surface (16) formed to convey a desired aesthetic effect. At least the outer layer (12) includes at least one organic, cellulosic additive for enabling the facing surface (16) to be painted or stained. The panel (10) may also be supported by at least one rigid support spine (32) disposed at least along a portion of the length of the sheet. The support spine (32) may be formed integrally with the panel (10). Alternatively, the support spine (32) may be formed as a separate material having a flexural modulus which is greater than the flexural modulus of the thermoplastic sheet so as to stiffen the panel (10) during handling, installation and use; the separate support spine (32) is fastened or bonded to the rear of the panel (10), or coextruded.

L'invention concerne un panneau de finition (10) extérieur en feuille en plastique formé d'une couche intérieure (14) faite en plastique expansé et d'une couche extérieure (12) en plastique non expansé collée à la couche intérieure et définissant la face (16) destinée à donner l'effet esthétique désiré. Au moins la couche extérieure (12) renferme au moins un additif cellulosique organique qui permet de peindre ou de teindre ladite face (16). Le panneau (10) peut également être étayé par au moins une arête de support rigide (32) jouxtant au moins en partie la longueur de la feuille. Ladite arête (32) peut être conçue d'une seule pièce avec le panneau (10). Elle peut également être conçue en tant que matériau séparé doté d'un module d'élasticité en flexion supérieur à celui de la feuille thermoplastique, le panneau (10) étant ainsi renforcé lors de la manutention, de l'installation et de l'utilisation. L'arête de support séparée (32) est fixée ou collée à l'arrière du panneau (10), ou co-extrudée.
