A portable game machine can selectively use a battery or an external power source as a power source. An external power supply device, when driving the portable game machine using the external power source, connects the external power source and the portable game machine to each other. The external power supply device is provided with a plug body and a power line. The plug body is formed in roughly the same shape as the button battery, and is attached detachably to a battery attachment part. Additionally, the power line extends from the plug body and is connected to the external power source.
