ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pre-assembled latch for mounting externally on the header of a pivotal sash window of a double-hung sash window assembly. The latch includes a housing having a spring- biased latch bolt normally providing a protruding bevelled formation for engaging a guide rail of the window assembly. The housing has depending spring clip means integral there- with for retaining the latch bolt operably assembled in the housing and the latch bolt has means cooperating with the housing for retaining the spring means in biasing associa- tion with the latch bolt.
