A low voltage adaptor for light fit- tings which is retrofittable in place of a standard GLS or incandescent reflector lamp. The adaptor comprises a compact housing (2) which incorporates a lamp cap (1) for fitting into an existing light fittings socket and elec- trical connection thereto, and electrical trans- former (9) to lower the supply voltage to an extra low voltage lampholder and an extra low voltage lamp (6) attached to the housing.
