ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A device for extraction of tar-containing gases in coking plants or the like, leaking from an oven door of the type including an extraction device operatively associated with a collection duct which, in turn, is provided with an extractor fan. A purification device of suitable type, e.g. an electrostatic filter or a hot ammonia liquor spraying device combined with a separator, are arranged in said collection duct.
