Disclosed is a process that relates to the recovery of a metal catalyst from an oxidizer purge stream produced in the synthesis of carboxylic acid, typically terephthalic acid. The process involves the addition of a wash solution to a high temperature molten dispersion to recover the metal a catalyst and then subjecting an aqueous mixture or purified aqueous mixture so formed to a single stage extraction to remove organic impurities to produce an extract stream and a raffinate stream comprising the metal catalyst.
La présente invention décrit un procédé de récupération d~un catalyseur métallique d~un flux de purge d~un oxydant généré dans la synthèse d~un acide carboxylique, typiquement l~acide téréphtalique. Le procédé implique l~ajout d~une solution de lavage à une dispersion en fusion à haute température, pour récupérer le catalyseur métallique, et ensuite la soumission d~un mélange aqueux ou mélange aqueux purifié ainsi formé, à une extraction à une seule étape pour retirer les impuretés organiques et pour produire un flux d~extrait et un flux de raffinat comprenant le catalyseur métallique.
