Extracts derived from plants of the Tsuga genus having anti-inflammatory and anti~ micro-bial properties are provided. The Tsuga extracts are suitable for the treatment of inflammation, irritation and/or infection. For example, for the treatment of der-matological conditions with an associated inflammatory component or infection; for combating the irritant or in-flammatory effects of other skin treatment compounds; for combating the irritant or inflammatory effects of en-vironmental factors; for treating obesity-related skin problems (for example, inflammation, redness, erythe-ma, rashes and/or bacterial infections caused by skin folds); for combating the irritant or inflammatory effects of, or infection due to, exfoliation, laser treatments or hair removal; for treating irritation, inflammation and/or infection associated with diaper rash; for incorporation into dermatological formulations for sensitive skins, and for providing a preservative effect to dermatological formulations, as well as for ameliorating the dermato-logical effects of ageing.
La présente invention concerne des extraits dérivés de plantes du genre Tsuga qui présentent des propriétés anti-inflammatoires et anti-microbiennes. Les extraits de Tsuga sont adaptés au traitement de linflammation, de lirritation et/ou de linfection. Par exemple, ils sont adaptés dans les cas suivants : traitement des pathologies dermatologiques avec un composant inflammatoire associé ou une infection; lutte contre les effets irritants ou inflammatoires dautres composants pour traitement cutané; lutte contre les effets irritants ou inflammatoires de facteurs environnementaux; traitement de problèmes cutanés liés à lobésité (par exemple inflammations, rougeurs, érythèmes, éruptions cutanées et/ou infections bactériennes provoquées par des plis de la peau); lutte contre les effets irritants ou inflammatoires de lexfoliation, des traitements au rayon laser ou de lépilation, ou lutte contre une infection provoquée par ceux-ci; traitement dune irritation, dune inflammation et/ou dune infection associée à lérythème fessier; incorporation dans des formulations dermatologiques pour peaux sensibles, et procuration dun effet conservateur à des formulations dermatologiques, ainsi quamélioration des effets dermatologiques du vieillissement.
