ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An adhesive composition which is a solid at room tempe- rature, containing (by weight) 40 to 79% rubber, 4 to 30% carbon- aceous filler, 4 to 30% silica filler, 2 to 8% zinc oxide, 2 to 10% of oil, 4 to 20% of unreactive phenolic condensate and/or resin, 4 to 20% of thermoplastic aliphatic hydrocarbon resin, and 0.03 to 4% of lubricant. The adhesive is useful for application to a carrier, such as tape, by extrusion through a broad-slit nozzle, and may be prepared in a form suitable for coextrusion with the carrier.
