Extrudable elastic oral pharmaceutical gel compositions, especially containing aetaminophen as the therapeutically active agent, and manually operable metered dose dispensers containing them and method of making and method of use thereof are disclosed. The gel composition is a solution and consists essentially of by weight/volume 0.1 to 50% of a therapeutically active agent, 5 to 40% of alcoholic solvent, 5 to 40% of hexitol, 25 to 85% of water and 0.2 to 5% of seaweed polysaccharide.
