An automotive seating system (10) including lightweight, high strength extrusions (18, 20) forming the track assemblies (14, 14). The extrusions (18, 20) are formed with elongated abutment surfaces (36, 46, 38, 48) providing the sole reaction surfaces to resist separation of the track assemblies (14, 14) in the event of a crash. No separate reinforcements are needed.
