An extruded node is disclosed comprising a longitudinally extending substantially hollow core (10) and at least one longitudinally extending hol- low flange (20) extending outwardly of and integral with a longitudinally extending side portion (22) of the core. This invention also provides a joined structure wherein at least one longitudinally ex- tending lineal member (60, 70, 80) having a hollow peripheral portion defined by walls having inside surfaces is adapted to mate with outside surfaces of a mating hollow flange of the extruded node. In this joined structure the peripheral portion of the lineal member is.inserted over the hollow flange of the node, to an extent that the outer peripheral sur- face of the lineal member surrounds the integral wall of the node, and the outside surfaces of the side walls of the hollow flange and the inside sur- faces of the lineal member mate along substantially the entire length and around substantially the entire perimeter of the flange.

L'invention concerne un noeud extrudé comprenant une âme (10) creuse s'étendant longitudinalement, ainsi qu'au moins un rebord (20) creux s'étendant longitudinalement à l'extérieur d'une partie latérale longitudinale (22), de l'âme, avec laquelle il est solidaire. L'invention concerne également une structure jointe dans laquelle au moins un élément linéal (60, 70, 80) s'étendant longitudinalement, comportant une partie périphérique creuse défine par des parois dotées de surfaces intérieures, est adapté pour s'apparier avec des surfaces extérieures d'un rebord creux d'appariement dudit noeud extrudé. Dans cette structure jointe la partie périphérique de l'élément linéal est insérée sur le le rebord creux du noeud, à tel point que la surface périphérique extérieure de l'élément linéal entoure la paroi solidaire du noeud, les surfaces extérieures des parois latérales du rebord creux et les surfaces intérieures de l'élément linéal s'appariant sur sensiblement toute la longueur et autour de sensiblement tout le périmètre du rebord.
