A method of extruding degradable plastic material in tubular form includes providing an annular extrusion die having an annular extrusion orifice and a longitudinal extending annular passage for conveying plastic material to the extrusion orifice. The die also has at least one arcuate passage extending at least partly around the annular passage such that the annular passage completely surrounds, or wherethere is more than one arcuate passage in combination completely surround, the annular passage inwardly or outwardly thereof and are in communication therewith. A separate melt stream of degradable plastic material is provided for each arcuate passage and each separate melt stream of degradable plastic material is incorporated with non-degradable plastic material in a circumferentially continuous manner toproduce separate encapsulated melt streams. Each encapsulated melt stream is fedto a respective arcuate passage to cause encapsulated plastic material to pass into the annular passage with subsequent extrusion in tubular form from the annular die orifice.

Cette invention concerne une méthode d'extrusion de tubes en plastique dégradable qui fait appel à une filière d'extrusion annulaire comportant un orifice annulaire et un passage annulaire longitudinal menant audit orifice d'extrusion pour y acheminer la matière première plastique. La filière comporte également au moins un passage courbe faisant au moins partiellement le tour du passage annulaire à l'extérieur ou à l'intérieur de celui-ci qui peut être complètement entouré par un ensemble de passages courbes partiels, ledit ou lesdits passages courbes étant en communication avec ledit passage annulaire. Chaque passage courbe reçoit un flux distinct de matière plastique dégradable et à chacun de ces flux est incorporé du plastique non dégradable formant une gaine circulaire continue. On obtient ainsi des flux gainés distincts. Les différents flux gainés sont acheminés respectivement vers les différents passages courbes de façon à passer dans le passage annulaire et y subir l'extrusion en forme tubulaire par l'orifice d'extrusion annulaire.
