An eye-controlled command system (10) using the human eye to control the operation of a selected device or devices. The control system (10) includes a digital camera (12) to follow the movement of one eye (42), and the opening and closing of that eyelid. Another digital camera (14) is provided for monitoring the opening and closing of the other eye (42). The images detected by each camera (12,14) is viewed on a digitizer screen (20) by a scanning device (24). The scanning device (24) delivers output to a control unit (26), that output including the color within each pixel (22) of the detected images. The control unit (26) compares the location of the eye (42) with respect to a command template (16) such that when a selected initiating sequence is performed by the eyes (42) of the user, a command corresponding to that location on the command template (16) is performed.
