An eyewear retention device (10) is disclosed that includes a length of resilient cord (11), such as cabling having a smooth plastic outer sheath, and terminating at each end in a tapered, rubberized retention tubing (12), and including retention end grommets (15) molded against the ends of the cabling to prevent the slipping off of the retention tubing from the cabling. The combination of the resilient cord (11) and the retention tubing (12) produces a tensioned arc (26) such that in addition to retaining eyeglasses to the vestment of a user when not in use, the retention device forms a suspended arc over the wear's upper torso such that the device does not contact the wear's upper torso or their vestment when donned over a wear's eyes.

Linvention concerne un dispositif de retenue de lunettes (10) incluant une longueur de cordon élastique (11), tel quun câblage pourvu dune gaine extérieure en plastique lisse, et se terminant à chaque extrémité par un tube de retenue (12) conique et caoutchouté, et comportant des illets de retenue dextrémité (15) moulés contre les extrémités du câblage pour empêcher tout glissement du câblage hors du tube de retenue. Lassociation du cordon élastique (11) et du tube de retenue (12) permet dobtenir un arc tendu (26) tel que le dispositif de retenue, en plus de retenir les lunettes sur le vêtement dun utilisateur en cas de non-utilisation, forme un arc tendu au-dessus de la partie supérieure du torse de lutilisateur, le dispositif nentrant alors pas en contact avec la partie supérieure du torse de lutilisateur ni avec ses vêtements lorsque lutilisateur lenfile pour le placer au-dessus de ses yeux.
