The present invention provides a fabric and a fabric structure made of yarns with reduced water absorption. The fabric comprises yarns and interstices between the yarns, the interstices between the yarns having an average width of greater than l00µm. At least one of the yarns is comprised of multiple fibers. Said at least one yarn has voids between the fibers wherein the voids are filled up with a polymer material. The interstices remain open and the size of the interstices is the same as before the treatment. The filling of the voids between the fibers with the polymer material prevents the absorption of water into said voids and therefore leads to reduced water absorption of the fabric. The polymer material is substantially only located within the voids of the yarn and has embedded the fibers within the outer surface of said yarn.
La présente invention porte sur un tissu et sur une structure de tissu, constitués de fils présentant une absorption d'eau réduite. Le tissu comprend des fils et des interstices entre les fils, les interstices entre les fils ayant une largeur moyenne supérieure à 100 µm. Au moins l'un des fils est constitué de multiples fibres. Ledit ou lesdits fils comportent des vides entre les fibres, les vides étant remplis par un matériau polymère. Les interstices restent ouverts et la taille des interstices est la même qu'avant le traitement. Le remplissage des vides entre les fibres avec le matériau polymère empêche l'absorption d'eau dans lesdits vides et, par conséquent, conduit à la réduction de l'absorption d'eau par le tissu. Le matériau polymère n'est sensiblement situé qu'à l'intérieur des vides du fil et a inclus les fibres à l'intérieur de la surface externe dudit fil.
