A woven fabric comprises cross-machine direction weft yarns (10), and an array of interwoven warp yarns, the warp yarns being woven in the machine direction in alternating groups of relatively narrow yarns (11) and relatively wide yarns (12). The narrow yarns (11) are looped around a respective last weft yarn (10a) and backwoven, whilst the wider yarns (12) are extended to form interdigitatable loops (14) for engagement of a pintle wire (15).

Un tissu tissé comprend des fils de trame transversaux (10), ainsi qu'un ensemble de fils de chaîne intertissés, les fils de chaîne étant tissés dans le sens machine en groupes alternés de fils (11) relativement étroits et de fils (12) relativement larges. Les fils étroits (11) sont bouclés autour d'un dernier fil (10a) de trame respectif et tissés en retour, alors que les fils larges (12) sont étendus pour former des boucles (14) pouvant être interdigitées et venant en prise avec un fil central (15).
