The present invention relates to a knitted fabric for manufacturing arts and crafts and/or for embroidering thereon. The new fabric has a symmetric configuration of up to 6 squares ("counts" per cm both lengthwise and across, and it is treated with a chemical or natural product. The knitted fabric takes in a great amount of sizing, thus displaying higher hardness and rigidity. This structure of the knitted fabric with sizing allows one to use any kind of needlework to embroider on it when making handicrafts. The new fabric is made 4 to 52 cm wide, thus allowing for inexpensive storage of the fabric in a reduced space, which is required for the storage of fabrics in a variety of colors. The new fabric may also be provided with festoons.
La présente invention a pour objet un tissu maillé destiné à la fabrication d'objets artisanaux et à l'exécution d'ouvrages de broderie. Le nouveau tissu en question présente une configuration symétrique comptant jusqu'à six duites au centimètre en longueur et en largeur, et reçoit un traitement effectué à l'aide d'un produit chimique ou naturel. Le tissu maillé fait aussi l'objet d'un important encollage, ce qui lui confère une résistance et une rigidité supérieures. La structure du tissu ainsi traité et encollé autorise l'exécution de broderies de tous genres aux fins de fabrication d'objets artisanaux. Le nouveau tissu maillé, produit en bandes de 4 à 52 centimètres de largeur, se prête à l'entreposage à peu de frais dans des volumes d'espace réduits, ce qui satisfait aux exigences applicables aux tissus qui doivent être entreposés dans une grande variété de couleurs. Le nouveau tissu peut aussi être produit avec festons.
