The invention concerns a fabric (1) generating electric current from sunlight designed to be used as shade, awning, blind and swimming pool cover (4), comprising a layer of interconnected photovoltaic cells (3). The invention also concerns a support for winding and storing said current-generating fabric (1), said support comprising a tube with rotational symmetry (4) and uniform polygonal cross-section on the periphery of which the fabric is capable of being wound.
