ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A fabric part label feed apparatus is described which includes a tape strip consisting of discrete individual labels joined end to end. The apparatus further comprises a storage device for the strip and means for removing the tape strip from the storage means. There is a sewing station and a supporting and feeding device directing the tape strip to the sewing station. A feed roll is arranged for reciprocating movement towards and away from the supporting and guiding means. Intermediate each of the labels are engagement means for engagement with the feed rod. The strip is received adjacent to the sewing station and a label is then fed therefrom into and through the sewing station. A cutting means operates in conjunction with the label feed rod to sever individual labels from the strip immediately prior to an individual label being fed into the sewing station. The advance in the art is in that the incremental movement of the tape is precisely controlled in co-operation with cutting means for separating individual labels from the tape strip.
