The present disclosure relates to cementitious articles that are reinforced with a fabric made at least partially of high modulus polyolefin monofilament fibers. Preferably, the polypropylene monofilament yarns have a 3% secant modulus of elasticity of at least 100g/denier. The high modulus polypropylene fabric has an intrinsic resistance to the alkaline conditions present in a cementitious composite, as well as a low elongation at break. The high modulus polypropylene may contain a nucleating agent to facilitate the process of obtaining desired draw ratio.

L'invention concerne des articles en ciment renforcés au moyen d'un tissu constitué au moins partiellement de fibres monofilament en polyoléfine à module élevé. De préférence, les films monofilament de polypropylène présentent un module sécant d'élasticité d'au moins 100g/denier. Le tissu de propylène à module élevé présente une résistance intrinsèque par rapport à des conditions alcalines présentes dans un composite cimenteux, ainsi qu'un faible allongement à la rupture. Le polypropylène à module élevé peut contenir un agent de nucléation pour faciliter l'obtention d'un rapport d'étirage voulu dans le procédé de l'invention.
