A fabric softening composition comprising: (a) a cationic fabric softening compound; and (b) an emulsified silicone. In one aspect the viscosity of the silicone before emulsification is from 10,000cSt to 1,000,000cSt, preferably from 30,000cSt to 750,000cSt, more preferably from 40,000cSt to 400,000cSt, most preferably 45,000cSt to 250,000cSt, e.g. 45,000cSt to 200,000cSt and the emulsion is a macro-emulsion. In another aspect, the median silicone droplet size in the emulsion is at least 0.2<i>µ</i>m, preferably at least 0.25<i>µ</i>m, more preferably at least 0.39<i>µ</i>m, preferably also no greater than 25<i>µ</i>m and is emulsified with an emulsifier comprising one or more cationic surfactants.

L'invention concerne une composition adoucissante renfermant: a) un composé adoucissant cationique; et b) un silicone émulsionné. Dans un aspect de cette invention, la viscosité du silicone avant son émulsification varie entre 10 000cSt et 1 000 000 cSt, de préférence entre 30 000 cSt et 750 000cSt, plutôt entre 40 000cSt et 400 000cSt, et idéalement entre 45 000cSt et 250 000cSt, par exemple entre 45 000cSt et 200 000cSt, l'émulsion se présentant par ailleurs sous la forme d'une macro-émulsion. Dans un autre aspect de cette invention, la taille moyenne des gouttelettes de silicone dans l'émulsion atteint au moins 0,2<i>µ</i>m, de préférence au moins 0,25<i>µ</i>m, plutôt au moins 0,39<i>µ</i>m, et idéalement pas plus de 25<i>µ</i>m. La composition de cette invention est émulsionnée à l'aide d'un agent émulsionnant qui renferme un ou plusieurs tensioactifs cationiques.
