A method and system of fabricating electrical heating devices employing positive temperature coefficient (PTC) thermistor as heating elements which includes: assembling the heating devices with PTC thermistor heating elements (10) preselected according to electrical resistance, applying pressure across the interface between the PTC heating elements and the radiator plates of the heating devices during their assembly, and exposing the heating devices for extended periods of time to both ambient and operational temperatures. The method of fabrication further includes continuously monitoring the electrical resistance of the heating devices and holding their electrical resistance stable by adjusting the pressure applied across the interface between the PTC heating elements and the radiator plates. The system includes a constant temperature chamber (29) for controlling the temperature environment of the heating devices, an ohm-meter circuit (27) for monitoring their electrical resistance, and an adjustable clamping device (28) for adjusting the pressure across the interface between the thermistor heating elements and the radiators of the heating devices.
L'invention concerne un procédé et un système utiles pour fabriquer des dispositifs électriques de chauffage employant une thermistance à coefficient de température positif (PTC) comme éléments chauffants. Le procédé comporte les étapes consistant à: assembler les dispositifs de chauffage avec des éléments chauffants (10) à thermistance PTC présélectionnés en fonction de la résistance électrique; appliquer une pression d'un bout à l'autre de l'interface située entre les éléments chauffants PTC et les plaques de radiateurs des dispositifs de chauffage au cours de l'assemblage de ceux-ci; et exposer les dispositifs de chauffage pendant des durées prolongées à des températures ambiantes et de fonctionnement. Le procédé de fabrication comporte en outre les étapes consistant à surveiller en continu la résistance électrique des dispositifs de chauffage, et maintenir la résistance électrique de ceux-ci à un niveau stable par réglage de la pression appliquée sur l'interface située entre les éléments chauffants PTC et les plaques de radiateurs. Le système comporte une chambre à température constante (29) servant à réguler la température du milieu dans lequel se trouvent les dispositifs de chauffage; un circuit d'ohmmètre (27) servant à surveiller la résistance électrique de ceux-ci; et un dispositif de fixation réglable (28) servant à régler la pression exercée sur l'interface située entre les éléments de chauffage à thermistance et les radiateurs des dispositifs de chauffage.
