ABSTRACT The facade panel (1) for a curtain wall consists of a rectangular support panel (2) and a decorative and weatherproof cladding layer (3) on the outside (2a) of the same. The support panel (2) is a panel of blown glass granulate bound by a foamed organic binder and reinforced on both sides by glass fiber fabric. The support panel (2) is surrounded at its edges (2b) by a frame (4) and is attached thereto by a plurality of rivets (7) or screws extending through the support panel (2). The frame (4) consists of four aluminum profiled bars (5) each of substantially L-shaped cross- sections whose short flanges (5a) surround the support panel (2) at the edge (2b) and whose long flanges (5b) bear against the rear side of the support panel (2) and are penetrated by the rivets (7) or screws. On the outside of the long flange (5b) facing sway from the rear side of the support panel there is formed a suspension groove(8) open to the short flange (5a), adapted to be suspended on support brackets (9) which for their part can be hung on vertical posts (10) of a sub-structure connected to the building.
