A face gear manufacturing operation wherein a set of oversized teeth are formed on a face gear or tapered pinion gear by a gear cutting operation. The oversized teeth are of a predetermined profile. The gear bearing the oversize teeth is then subjected to metallurgical surface hardening operation. At the conclusion of the heat treatment surface hardening operation, the face gear or pinion gear is subjected to a continuous grinding operation wherein a grinding wheel having a worm profile of a predetermined shape is rotated to grind the previously cut teeth to produce a finished tooth profile. The operation is CNC controlled. The gear producing apparatus requires only a slight modification to produce a face gear or a tapered pinion gear by the simple interchange of work heads.
L'invention concerne une méthode de fabrication d'engrenages à roue plate, dans laquelle des dents surdimensionnées sont formées sur un engrenage à roue plate ou un pignon effilé par une opération de taillage des engrenages. Les dents surdimensionnées ont un profil prédéterminé. L'engrenage portant les dents surdimensionnées est ensuite assujetti à une opération de durcissement superficiel métallurgique. Au terme de l'opération de durcissement superficiel par traitement thermique, le'engrenage à roue plate ou le pignon d'engrenage fait l'objet d'une opération de broyage continu, dans laquelle une meule ayant un profil rongé d'une forme prédéterminée est mise en rotation pour broyer les dents précédemment coupées afin de produire un profil de dents fini. L'opération est contrôlée par CNC. L'appareil de fabrication d'engrenages exige seulement une légère modification pour produire un engrenage à roue plate ou un pignon d'engrenage plat en échangeant tout simplement les têtes de travail.
