A facsimile apparatus having a telephone function for transmitting and receiving a voice signal through a telephone line and a facsimile function for transmitting and receiving an image signal through the telephone line. The facsimile apparatus includes a parent machine connected to the telephone line and having the telephone function, and a child machine coupled to the parent machine by radio and having the telephone function and the facsimile function. The parent machine includes a memory for temporarily storing an image signal received through the telephone line and an image signal received from the child machine to be transmitted to the telephone line.
