Disclosed is a high field asymmetric waveform ion mobility spectrometer (FAIMS) with optical based detection of selectively transmitted ions. Light from a light source (50) is directed through an optical port in an electrode of the FAIMS. A light detector (52) is provided for receiving light that is one of transmitted and scattered by the selectively transmitted ions within the FAIMS.

L'invention concerne un spectromètre de mobilité ionique en champ intense à forme d'onde asymétrique (FAIMS) à détection optique des ions transmis sélectivement. La lumière provenant d'une source lumineuse est dirigée via un port optique dans une électrode du FAIMS.
