A fall arrest device has a locking cam (13) pivotally mounted on a body part (11) which is engaged with a safety cable (10). A cover (18) is pivotally mounted on the body part (11) to receive loading applied to the device in a direction towards the cable (10), whereupon the cover (18) is pivoted to apply the loading directly to the cam (13), in order to bring the cam (13) into its locking condition with the cable (10). Without this cover action, the applied loading towards the cable (10) may result in the device being maintained in its unlocked condition.
Ce dispositif antichute est pourvu d'une came (13) de blocage montée pivotante sur un corps (11) dans lequel coulisse un câble (10) de sécurité. Un couvercle (18) est monté pivotant sur le corps (11) de sorte qu'il puisse recevoir la charge appliquée au dispositif et la transmettre en direction du câble (10), le couvercle (18) pivotant alors afin d'appliquer la charge directement sur la came (13) de manière à mettre celle-ci en position de blocage du câble. Sans cette action du couvercle, il se peut que lorsqu'une charge est appliquée en direction du câble (10), le dispositif se maintienne dans une position dans laquelle le câble n'est pas bloqué.
