A falling film evaporator for use in a vapor compression refrigeration chiller (10) preferably employs a two-phase refrigerant distributor (50) that overlies the tube bundle (52) in the evaporator shell (32). The tube bundle (52) defines at least on vapor lane (72, 74) which facilitates the conduct of refrigerant vapor from the interior of the tube bundle to the exterior thereof.

L'invention concerne un évaporateur à flux tombant destiné à être utilisé dans un refroidisseur à réfrigération par compression de vapeur (10); il utilise de préférence un distributeur de frigorigène à deux phases (50) installé au-dessus du faisceau de tubes (52) dans l'enceinte de l'évaporateur (32). Le faisceau de tubes (52) définit au moins une conduite de vapeur (72, 74) qui facilite l'écoulement de la vapeur réfrigérante depuis l'intérieur du faisceau de tubes vers l'extérieur de celui-ci.
