ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION A paint spray gun is provided with a means of adjustably controlling fanning of the spray which may be regulated independently of the rotative position of the air cap. A valve member axially shiftable by an adjustment screw adjustably controls the flow of air to fanning control ports in the air cap without interfering with the flow of atomizing air to the paint spray nozzle.
