ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A farming implement of the type including a frame provided with ground wheels, said frame supporting tank means for seed, fertilizer or the like, mechanical conveyor means for conveying a predetermined volume of a respective material from a discharge of said tank means to a pneumatic conveyor means arranged for communication with a pneumatic distribution system associated with a tillage equipment, for depositing the seed, fertilizer or the like in top soil, said mechanical conveyor means including being drivingly coupled with trans- mission means for driving the mechanical conveyor means at a controlled rate of discharge of seed, fertilizer or the like from said tank means, wherein the transmission means comprises an input end and an output end, the latter being operatively associated with said mechanical conveyor means for causing same to operate at a predetermined speed, said transmission means further comprising ratio adjustment means for selectively adjusting the ratio between the input end and the output end to thus selectively adjust the instant speed of the mechanical conveyor means, said input end of the transmission means being a variable input whose variations are proportional to variations in the speed of advancement of said implement over the ground, whereby the instant speed of said mechanical conveyor means is simultaneously derived from said speed of advancement and from an instant selectively adjusted ratio between said input end and said output end.
