An appliance (10) for assisting in the shoeing of horses and other animals is made of malleable galvanized sheet metal. It is formed of a pair of wings (14, 16) which extend outwardly from a center axis (18) and extend upwardly from a line perpendicular to the axis at an angle of approximately 25~ - 40~ to accommodate various hoof trim angles. The wings are wrapped about an animal's hoof (30) and are trimmed, if necessary, to lie flush with the hoof edge. The wings each have a plurality of apertures (22, 24) for receiving the ends of shoeing nails (38) that are clinched to the outer surface of the appliance. The appliance extends the life of a shoeing, prevents loose and thrown shoes and is useful in repairing cracked hooves.
L'invention concerne un appareil (10) facilitant le ferrage des chevaux et d'autres animaux constitué d'une feuille métallique galvanisée malléable. Ladite feuille est formée d'une paire d'ailes (14, 16) s'étendant d'un axe central (18) vers l'extérieur et s'étendant vers le haut à partir d'une ligne perpendiculaire audit axe selon un angle approximatif de 25· - 40· afin de s'adapter à des angles de parage de pied variés. Les ailes enveloppent un sabot d'animal (30) et sont rognées, le cas échéant, pour affleurer avec le bord du sabot. Elles comprennent chacune une pluralité d'ouvertures (22, 24) destinées à recevoir les extrémités des rivets de ferrage (38) qui sont repliées sur la surface extérieure de l'appareil. Cet appareil prolonge la durée de vie du ferrage, empêche le détachement t la perte des fers et est utile pour réparer les sabots abîmés.
