Techniques for fast cell search, selection and reselection for wireless communication systems such as OFDM or OFDMA communication systems. In various implementations of the described techniques, downlink subframes from base stations to mobile stations are designed to include information in form of preambles (514) or post-ambles in one or more downlink subframes to facilitate cell search at receiving mobile stations at high speeds. The described preambles (514) and post-ambles may also be used to improve the accuracy of signal synchronization in time and frequency.

L'invention concerne des techniques de recherche cellulaire rapide, de sélection et de resélection destinées à des systèmes de communication sans fil tels que les systèmes de communication OFDM ou OFDMA. Dans diverses mises en oeuvre de ces techniques, des sous-trames à liaison descendante de stations de base à stations mobiles sont conçues pour comporter des informations sous la forme de préambules ou de conclusions dans au moins une sous-trame à liaison descendante afin de faciliter la recherche cellulaire au niveau des stations mobiles de réception à grandes vitesses. Lesdits préambules et conclusions peuvent également servir à améliorer l'exactitude de la synchronisation de signaux en temps et en fréquence.
