The invention relates to a fast hardening aqueous coating composition comprising from 95 to 99 weight percent of an anionically stabilized aqueous emulsion of a copolymer having a Tg of from -10 ·C to 50 ·C, the copolymer containing two or more ethylenically unsaturated monomers, wherein from 0 to 5 weight percent of the monomers are .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acid monomers; from 0.2 to 5 weight percent of a polyimine having a molecular weight of from 250 to 20,000; and from 0.2 to 5 weight percent of a volatile base, wherein the composition has a pH from 8 to 11, and wherein a cast film of the composition has a hardening rate measurement rating of at least 5 within 20 minutes after casting under ambient conditions of temperature up to 30 ·C and relative humidity no less than 50 percent. Within the scope of the invention are a process for the preparation of a fast hardening aqueous coating composition, a fast hardening aqueous traffic paint, and a fast hardening migration-resistant binder for composites.
La présente invention concerne une composition aqueuse de revêtement à durcissement rapide qui comporte de 95 à 99 pour cent en poids d'une émulsion aqueuse anioniquement stabilisée d'un copolymère ayant une température de transition vitreuse (Tg) de -10 ·C à 50 ·C, ce copolymère contenant au moins deux monomères éthyléniquement insaturés, 0 à 5 pour cent en poids de ces monomères étant des monomères d'acide carboxylique aliphatique insaturés en .alpha.,.beta.-éthylène; cette solution comporte également de 0,2 à 5 pour cent en poids d'une polyimine dont la masse moléculaire est comprise entre 250 et 20.000 et de 0,2 à 5 pour cent en poids d'une base volatile. Ladite composition a un PH compris entre 8 et 11, et 20 minutes après avoir éte coulée en une feuille mince, dans des conditions ambiantes de température allant jusqu'à 30 ·C et d'humidité inférieure à 50 pour cent, elle possède une valeur estimative de la vitesse de durcissement d'au moins 5. L'invention concerne également un procédé de préparation d'une composition aqueuse de revêtement à durcissement rapide, d'une peinture de signalisation routière en phase aqueuse à durcissement rapide et d'un liant résistant à la migration pour matières composites.
