A communication session between a node seeking network access and a NAS (Network Access Server) is established by having only few exchanges of messages. Upon detecting a physical link between the node and the NAS, the NAS immediately sends an authentication request message to the node. In response, the node sends a request message which includes all parameters options, in addition to responding to the authentication request message, for link configuration and network access control. The NAS then picks and chooses the parameter options and sends back the selected options in a reply message to the node. If the selected options in the reply message meet a threshold, the node straightforwardly transmits user data for network access via the NAS.
On établit une session de communication entre un noeud recherchant un accès réseau et un serveur d'accès réseau (NAS) en ayant uniquement un petit nombre d'échanges de messages. Après détection d'un lien physique entre le noeud et le serveur NAS, celui-ci envoie immédiatement un message de demande d'authentification au noeud. En réponse, le noeud envoie un message de demande qui contient toutes les options de paramètres, en plus de répondre au message de demande d'authentification, pour la configuration du lien et la commande d'accès réseau. Puis, le serveur NAS pointe et choisit les options de paramètres et renvoie les options choisies dans un message de réponse au noeud. Si les options choisies dans le message de réponse satisfont à un seuil, le noeud transmet directement les données d'utilisateur pour l'accès réseau via le serveur NAS.
