It is the aim of the present invention to generate a method and a database of results of suitable mixtures of additives in aqueous solution, which efficiently and rapidly: a) Reduce I2, RI and iodate to non-volatile iodide ions in a wide range of temperature and pH and, b) Effectively bind the iodide ions to prevent their potential re-oxidation to volatile iodine species especially at low pH and under irradiation. This objectives are achieved by a method for a retention of iodine species in an aqueous solution, comprising the steps of: a) adding a nucleophilic agent or a mixture of a plurality of nucleophilic agents to the aqueous solution: and b) adding a soluble ion-exchanger agent or a mixture of a plurality of soluble ion-exchanger agents to the aqueous solution. This method provides a new way to reduce iodate, molecular iodine and also organic iodides into non-volatile iodide ions and further to bind them to suppress re- generation of volatile iodines.

L'invention concerne un procédé et une base de données de résultats de mélanges appropriés d'additifs en solution aqueuse, lesquels effectuent rapidement et efficacement : a) la réduction de I2, RI et de l'iodate en ions iodures non volatils sur une large plage de température et de pH et b) la fixation efficace des ions iodures pour empêcher leur réoxydation potentielle en espèces iodées volatiles en particulier à bas pH et sous une irradiation. L'invention concerne un procédé pour le maintien d'espèces iodées dans une solution aqueuse, comprenant les étapes consistant à : a) ajouter un agent nucléophile ou un mélange d'une pluralité d'agents nucléophiles à la solution aqueuse ; et b) ajouter un agent échangeur d'ions soluble ou un mélange d'une pluralité d'agents échangeurs d'ions solubles à la solution aqueuse. Ce procédé fournit une nouvelle manière de réduire l'iodate, l'iode moléculaire et également des iodures organiques en ions iodures non volatils et en plus de les fixer pour supprimer la reformation d'espèces iodées volatiles.
