An end to end fast signalling procedure is disclosed in order to improve standard RTP/RTCP transport protocols for the support of streaming services with in any kind of wireless and/or mobile networks, in particular for the introduction within GSM-GPRS. The streaming flow is expected to be sent from an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to Mobile Stations (MS). During fast signalling procedure, RTCP feedback messages are sent at a rate higher then the one expected in standard RTCP protocol. Fast signalling messages are made by upgraded Receiver Reports (FRR) intended to make the end to end QoS control mechanism able to react quickly to sudden changes in the available bandwidth that can occur at the radio interface.

La présente invention concerne une procédure de signalisation rapide de bout en bout permettant d'améliorer les protocoles de transport standards RTP/RTCP de façon à admettre des services de diffusion en flux continu dans toutes sortes de réseaux hertziens et/ou de téléphonie mobile, notamment en vue de l'introduction à l'intérieur du GSM-GPRS. Le flux continu de diffusion doit normalement être envoyé d'un fournisseur de services Internet (ISP) à des stations mobiles (MS). Pendant la procédure de signalisation rapide, des messages de rétroaction RTCP sont envoyés à une vitesse supérieure à celle attendue en protocole RTCP standard. Les messages de signalisation rapide sont produits par les comptes-rendus récepteurs mis à niveau dont on attend qu'ils permettent au mécanisme de contrôle de qualité de service de bout en bout qu'il réagisse rapidement aux changements soudains de largeur de bande disponible pouvant survenir à l'interface hertzienne.
