ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a fastener driven into a heavy walled, ferrous or non-ferrous metal workpiece having a cylindrical cavity in which is disposed a solid metal cylinder having one or more bore holes each forming an acute angle with the axis of the cylinder ex- tending through the cylinder from one end face to and through the cylindrical wall adjacent to the other end face and in which there is lodged a spent projectile which has been fired into the bore hole having a bulged extention wedged between and deforming the adjacent surface of the workpiece cavity and cylinder, thereby lock- ing together the projectile, workpiece and cylinder. The cylinder may be provided with a circumferential recess housing a sealing gasket, such as an O-ring providing a pressure tight seal between the cylinder and workpiece.
