ABSTRACT Prior art fasteners for attaching trade or price tags to an article have limited length and therefore cannot be used on bulky, thick articles. The invention is a fastener assembly comprising a plurality of fasteners joined by a string and which may be separated from the assembly. Each fastener comprises a female member having an opening, a male member engageable in the opening, and a string member comprising a portion of the string joining the fasteners. The string member passes through the female and male members which are fused to it. The individual fasteners are obtained by cutting the string between adjacent male and female members of the adjacent fasteners. The string between each pair of male and female members may be adjusted in length to provide a fastener of any suitable length.
