ABSTRACT The invention provides a needle tube or the like useful in dispensing fastener attachment members, the needle core including a tip, a central portion and a flat tail portion. A slot and bore are formed in the central portion. A rigid plastic shank surrounds part of the core and has a slot in line with the slot of the core, so that the core is locked in place within the shank.
