A fastener installation head having a plunger and a carrier device displaceably guided parallel to the plunger and being provided at its one end associated with the end face of the plunger with holding noses. In a retracted loading position of the plunger, one element can be inserted from the side between the holding noses and the free end face of the plunger. The carrier device is synchronously movable with the plunger during an advance movement of the plunger up to a release position in which the holding noses can be moved outwardly and the element can be released.
