A fastening device for use in securing a door fabric curtain to a side fabric curtain of a portable shelter assembly wherein the door fabric curtain has a series of vertically spaced eyelets along one side vertical edge and wherein the side fabric curtain displays a vertically extending longitudinal flap. The device consists of a fastener with a first portion fixedly secured to the flap and a hook portion to receive the loop of an elastic band which has one end thereof secured to a reciprocal eyelet of the door fabric curtain. The loop is stretchedly engageable with the hook portion of the fastener.
