ABSTRACT Fastening element, in particular a pipe clip, produced from one or more strips of material, preferably a strip of sheet metal, having a flexible tongue bent around the object(s) to be secured and a locking part connected to such tongue into which the free end of such tongue is inserted and ankered. In order to permit such a fastening element to exert, by the simplest means, strong forces upon the objects which it is to secure, the free end of the tongue is bent upwards into the form of a hook and the flat locking part stands off from the tongue at a fixed angle, preferably one of 90°, such locking part featuring a hooking edge set at a distance from the zone of connection of the locking part and tongue, to which hooking edge the hook-shaped end of tongue is hooked, whereby the locking part, in order to facilitate the closure of the fastening element, acts as a lever and the locking part is constructed in one piece together with tongue.
